Eddie Sullivan is home recovering from  outpatient hernia surgery on 12/3.  He says he is pretty sore and will be sitting out a couple of weeks, until he has the follow-up appointment with his doctor.  The surgery went fine.  It was the anesthesia that made him a little woozy!

Update: 12/4  Barb Latzo, wife of Bobby, was out of the house for the first time 12/3 to do a little shopping.  Bobby called to report the wonderful news that all of the tests from the lymph nodes and bone and tissue came back clear. No sign that the cancer had spread.  Now it is on to the dental specialists and doctors to figure out how to build the tissue back up that was removed.

Bruce Brady Update:12/05   Word from Joe Paluch:  Bruce's procedure was delayed until 4:30 this afternoon, but the wait was worth it. The surgery was a success.  Bruce says the headaches are gone. He is in ICU so no visitors now.   (Linda G.)

Info from Marlene Brady, Wife of Bruce:

Hi all,
Bruce is having an angioplasty and a stent put in an artery in the brain stem (basilar artery) on Wed. morning.  The surgeon is using a new stent made specifically for cerebral arteries.  Bruce will be in intensive care Wed. night and hopefully will be home late Thurs. or early Friday morning if all goes well.  I'm staying at the hotel down the block from Barrows/St. Joseph's Hospital.  So, we're packed and ready to roll on Wed. morning.

Bruce wanted me to thank everyone for the cards, calls, emails, flowers, gifts, cookies, candies and visits.  Wow!  He is just overwhelmed with the love and support you all have shown him.  Thank you so much.  Needless to say,
Bruce is looking forward to getting back on the softball field.

I will keep you updated as soon as I can.  Thank you everyone for all your help, support and love.  - Marlene

Norm Benoit is recovering from a 6 day hospital stay, 3 days of it with an epidural (numbed from the waist down) and hooked up to a continuous motion machine to manage scar tissue around the new knee he got this last summer. He has 2 1/2 hrs a day of therapy on the knee but he says it is doing well.  He can drive himself to his appointments.  He meets in the next week or 2 with his heart doctor to find out when he will be fitted with a defibrillator (in addition to his current pacemaker) to keep his heart in rhythm. He still has hopes of returning to the ball field some day.

Mike Graham was released to play by his surgeon today.  YEA!!!!!!!  Look for his name on the sub list (not as a 1 quite yet though!)

Bob Check is recovering from having a pacemaker placed. Kind of a scary time with code blues and such. I'm thinkin he must be part cat with his many "lives". Glad to see you back at the field, Bobby.
