Karen Leisten suffered a broken bone in her hand during a practice this past week and will be sidelined for a bit.  Fortunately, no surgery is indicated at this time. Speedy recovery, Karen!

Mom of Diana Wenners and mother-in law of Bob Wenners passed away 11/14/09 of metastatic lung cancer which was diagnosed in late August . She was under hospice care in her home since then.  She was 78 years old and is now back with Diana's Dad (who passed away last December). Please keep Bob and Diana in your thoughts and prayers.

Rich Bogosian has been forced to put the bat and glove away for awhile.  He is scheduled for shoulder surgery in January.  Then he'll see how his hip feels.  Rich has generously agreed to stay involved in the club by helping out with the Monday Green Team. See you at the field, Rich.

Tom Carey has had to put the glove and bat away for now.  He is planning rotator cuff surgery in December.

Gene Sutter  is dealing with the aftermath of a freak bounce during practice that broke a bone in his arm. After 2 1/2 weeks of pain and a negative x-ray, a CT scan confirmed the break. Next stop is the orthopedic doc.

Bob Stouthamer had his hopes up, to rejoin the roster this season.  However, his leg was unwilling.  Always room in the Peanut Gallery or the announcing booth, Bob!

Karl Grumbach has been hospitalized and is in intensive care with serious medical problems.  Positive thoughts and prayers are welcome.

Don Swanson  has been seen at the ball field sporting a new knee and his walker.  Glad to see him doing well.

Bob Renberg had a stent placed on 11/10 during a difficult procedure.  Had to go through one stent to place the new one.  Ouch!!  Anyhow, all is going well and he expects to be back playing in a couple of weeks.

Dave Bergmann is recovering from his stent placement on 11/7/09.  He was well enough to come to the hospital to visit Mike Graham on 11/8.

Mike Graham update 11/11: Mike came home 11/10, but still has a PICC IV port to get daily antibiotics for the next week.  Maybe the new flavor of drugs will do the trick!

Tait Douglas is recovering at home following a few days in the hospital under observation.  He took a tumble during a game last Thursday and cracked several ribs. Thankfully, no damage to the lungs.  He has turned in his jersey for the remainder of the session.  Take care, Tait.

I can't remember when there have been so many reports of injured or ill players. Please take care of yourselves and each other.
