Gordy Rholl
1929-June 09, 2010
Gordy's sister Borgie, emailed me to let me know Gordy passed away last night, losing his battle with cancer. No plans have been made at this time. Cards can be sent to Mrs. Nancy Rholl, 10035 W Royal Oaks Suite 1037, Sun City, Az. 85351
Forwarded from the Tennis Club:Gordy Rholl passed away June 9th at 10:30
PM. He was in the Care Center at Royal Oaks. The cancer progressed
very quickly, as I just played in the Club Tournament, with Gordy as my
> partner, in March. Gordy's pain is over, and he is now in a
much better place. Gordy was never a complainer and always
supported and participated in the club activities. He was a valuable
member of the tennis club, serving as Club Secretary for two years (2007 and
2008). Gordy's inner and physical strength is something I will always
remember. If ever you wanted someone on your side that you could count on,
Gordy was your man!
> Gordy's loving wife, Nancy, has been by his side through all of
his pain and suffering. She did so much to help make his last days as
pleasant as possible. Now, she needs our prayers and support to help with her
loss. Gordy's body is being cremated. There will be a
memorial ceremony at Sunland Mortuary on June 26th (Saturday) at 10:00 AM.
Gordy's wishes were that flowers not be sent. Instead, donations can be
made in his name to "Highway Christian Hospice", 67 East Weldon Ave.
Phoenix, AZ 85012 (602-274-1952). However, it would be okay to send
a card to Nancy.
Don Eden
1933-May 25, 2010
Don Eden, a long-time member of the Sun City West Softball Club, passed away May 25, 2010. Fellow player, Ray Keller, describes him as probably the best shortstop to ever hit this town. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Saturday, May 29, at the Sun City West Christian Church, located at 151st Ave and RH Johnson Blvd. A donation in Don's name will be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
Dennis Hertzog called to say he was having rotator cuff surgery on Friday and will probably be out about 9 months. We all wish him the best and hope to see him back on the field as soon as he is able.
