Maryllin Meirs, a longtime member of the Guys and Gals, is facing some very real difficulties in caring for her husband and for herself as she battles her cancer. If any of you angels know someone who would be interested in being a part time caretaker, please contact Linda Graham. Maybe we can provide some much needed assistance in locating help for them in their home.
Joe Holmes visited Liberty Field last yesterday. He is recovering very nicely from a stroke suffered a couple of weeks ago. Welcome back, Joe.
John Laviola only missed 1 game having scraped skin off his face and opening the gate at the Sun Bowl field with his head! Welcome back, John.
Harry Orn is finally home from the hospital. Following his heart attack, stent and angioplasty, he developed pneumonia, but is feeling much better now. He expects to be back at the field, at least in the Peanut Gallery, in a couple of weeks.
Wayne Mitchell has asked me to post this to get all the rumors under control. First of all, he is receiving chemotherapy for lymphoma. He has had non-aggressive lymphoma for over 15 years and has just been getting checkups. A recent check-up showed 1 lymph gland had enlarged, so 3 chemo treatments were ordered. He has had 1 treatment and it knocked him for a loop and he caught pneumonia following the treatment. He is happy to report that he is back to feeling fine now. He has his next treatment next week, but because the chemo severely compromises his immune system, he will be avoiding seeing folks. Cards and phone calls are welcome, but save the hugs!
