George Maurer 1929 - 2008
At the age of 79, George died March 17, 2008.
George played in the National league as a pitcher from 1993 until 2004. He was a retired police officer from St. Louis.
He is survived by his wife, Jean.
John, Rocky Balboa, Laviola is home resting following a very nasty headlong slide into the dirt and fencepost along the first base line. He says the x-rays taken at the hospital did not reveal any problems. He is missing quite a lot of skin from his face and has a bump on the head and a colorful eye. He will take it one day at a time as far as when he will return to play. It was especially sad to have John leave the game early as he took half the spectators with him! The one thing John wanted to know when he was awake again was, "did I catch the ball?" Yes, of course you did ,John! The best news is that he already had his picture taken. :>)
Harry Orn is in Boswell Hospital following a massive heart attack. He had a stent placed Monday night as well as some angioplasty and is resting comfortably. He expects to be home by Friday. Our thoughts and prayers are with him.
Jim Willie has had surgery to wire his finger back together. He expects to return to playing ball in the fall for sure.
