Sal Aprea Update: Sal has been moved out of intensive care and is hoping to come home this week. In the mean time, his knee surgeon has brought the knee exerciser back so Sal's knee can be exercised while he is in bed. His progress is being closely monitored by both the knee surgeon and the cardiologist. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!
Was transported to Del Webb Wednesday morning, 03/10/10. He was having difficulty breathing and showing other signs of distress. Tests revealed that a blood clot had formed in the location of a previous stent and he underwent an emergency cardiac catheterization Thursday morning about 2 am. Sal has been diligently doing his therapy to rehab a new knee replacement. The doctors explained that there is some heart damage from the lack of oxygen caused by the clot. Sal has been awake and talking. (Those who know Sal, know he loves to talk.) As he is in intensive care, it is important to remember that what he needs most right now is rest and as little exposure to outside germs, etc. as possible. Prayers and well wishes are much appreciated. Cards to the house are welcome. Please understand the need for limited visits and phone calls, at least for now.
