Bobby Yates underwent prostate surgery today. Since he opted for the "freezing" procedure, he was able to come home the same day. Although the surgery was delayed several hours, he was home and chatting with me on the phone this evening. He really appreciates all the good wishes and concern. (L.Graham)
Nick Gregos is recovering from an injury received when a hard hit ball down the third base line glanced off his glove and pegged him right between the eyes. He has a slight problem with some "loose" bones, but is breathing fine. He is expecting a full recovery, but will sit on the sidelines for a week or two.
Phil Damico is home resting comfortably following a procedure on 02/08/08 to widen one artery and place a stent in another. He plans to take it easy (not play!) for a couple of weeks at least, but feels all went really well. Looks like the Cardiac Kids will have another eligible player next year.
Speaking of the Cardiac Kids, the games on February 2, 2008 raised more than $1800 for the Arizona Heart Foundation. Many thanks to all of you “Angels” out there who made the weekend such as success.
Ken Skinner was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January. He has opted for the DaVinci robotic surgical procedure and is awaiting scheduling. He is very encouraged by all the survivors who have let him know it won’t be long after the surgery and he will be back on the playing field. We all wish you the best, Ken.
Bosom Buddies Tournament was a rousing success, collecting over $7000 in donations. Thanks again to all of the “Angels” out there for your caring and generosity.
