Ray Early: Many of you saw Ray get hit in the forearm by a hard hit line shot back to the pitcher's mound today. Ray left the game with his arm iced and drove home. The good news is that he was able to hit some gold balls later in the day. Yea!
Bill Atherton: As many of you know, Bill has been under ongoing treatment for cancer for some time. He made the decision in late November to discontinue the treatments. According to wife Carol, the private residence in Surprise where he is receiving hospice care is wonderful. Cards and emails are welcome. Paul Nagelson and Sal Aprea were able to visit him for a short time this past week. His meds are now under control and he is not experiencing pain, so he is much like the old Bill. However, he does tire very easily. If you would like more info about visiting Bill, Please contact Linda Graham.
Paul Turley has been hospitalized at Del Webb in room 552. He is in isolation due to infection, so visitors are required to wear gowns to visit. Dehydration continues to be a problem for him also. He may be able to take phone calls. However, cards to his home will be delivered to him. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is happy to be at Del Webb rather than the Vets where he was so far from everyone.
There are several players choosing to populate the Peanut Gallery for the coming session for one reason or another. The CORE Group should come pass out business cards for all the knees needing replacing!
There are also several brand new players in both leagues. If you see someone you don't recognize, I'm sure you will welcome them and caution them to "Start Slow!"
